Beker, a pop-up dinner series curated by Sean Baker, celebrates the places he calls home. Splitting his time over the last few years between San Francisco and Baja California, Sean is constantly inspired by the distinct sense of place that characterises these regions both in their bounty and their culinary traditions.
Each Beker dinner is designed to share and celebrate some aspect of the place where it’s held, whether it be a season, like summer, or an ingredient that deserves to be highlighted, like citrus. Local is the focus, but in the background Sean incorporates techniques that pay homage to the traditions of all the places to which he and his wife, Renee have travelled.
